Another Masonic Journey Begins At Royal Somerset
The Brethren of Royal Somerset Lodge in Frome were delighted to welcome their new Entered Apprentice, Kyle Stickley, at their February meeting.
WM. Ian Rogers led the meeting with aplomb, keenly assisted by numerous members of the Lodge. Kyle was led through the ceremony by his longstanding friend, and current Junior Deacon, Kevin Milne. They clearly both enjoyed the special occasion, entering as friends and leaving as Brothers.

Kyle, who is a driving instructor, was born and bred in Frome, and has four sons with wife, Jemma.
A dedicated rugby player, having played for Dudley Kingswinford whilst studying Sports Studies at Wolverhampton University, Kyle has since played for a number of other clubs nearer to home and is now keen to pass on his knowledge of the game as the scrum coach for the under 16’s at Frome Rugby Club.
This is how he first met Kevin, whilst coaching his son.
Kyles Grandfather was a Freemason in the Croydon area, which is how he first became interested in our Institution. He has a collection of his Grandfather’s regalia and his hoping to have certain items restored and refinished for his own use in future. Kyle’s interest grew further during numerous conversations with Kev, after learning that he was a member of Royal Somerset Lodge in his home town. It became Kev’s privilege to propose Kyle into that Lodge.
The very convivial atmosphere of Kyle’s Initiation Ceremony continued at the Festive Board afterwards whereupon Kyle was introduced to the concepts of ‘The Masonic Chain’, which was conducted brilliantly by Alwyn Leek, who was there as a guest. That experience left what we hope will be a lasting impression on Kyle’s mind, and those of the other Brethren who were witnessing it for the first time.
