Somerset Masters’ Lodge – The End
The title of the WM’s Inaugural Talk a year ago was “In The Beginning”, focusing on the first five Somerset Provincial Grand Masters, so the expectation, from a talk due to be presented by the incoming Master promoted as, “At The End”, was certainly along a continuing theme: however, Ben, not known for always following convention, used the opportunity to explain the role of the Coroner’s office, where he had been employed for most of his professional career!

He was installed by his predecessor Neil, in a very polished and relaxed manner, as would be hoped from a past master of considerable experience, and he certainly did not disappoint.
Ben then proceeded to invest his officers, in his own affable style, and his dissertation which followed, was well received by an attentive audience.

The aims of the Somerset Masters’ Lodge are to provide the opportunity for Masters in Office, Past Masters, Rulers of the Craft and other Orders to meet in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Further to encourage interest in all aspects of Freemasonry and to promote discussion, debate and Masonic research.
The conversations which followed during lunch afterwards however were mainly focused on the quality and quantity of the famous buffet at Keynsham Masonic Hall resulting in the end of any attempts to diet!
