Tyntesfield Chapter February Meeting

On Thursday 12th February, Tyntesfield Chapter had the privilege of hosting E Comp Neil Hurcum Deputy Grand Superintendent and a number of other Provincial Officers on a Provincial Fraternal Visit. Unfortunately, no candidate available to exalt so daily advancement in masonic knowledge was the result.

The Somerset Explanation of the Royal Arch Tracing Board, which had been compiled by E Comp J Bennett Past MEGS was the main business. E Comp Neil Hurcum Deputy Grand Superintendent volunteered to lead the presentation and started with an Introduction (also the conclusion).

Various companions rose and explained the various parts of the Tracing Board

E Comp Martin Slocombe – The Arch & The Pedestal and the Plate of Gold

E Comp Iain Disdel – The Bible, Square and Compasses & The Name on the Pedestal

E Comp Jon Mansell – The Scroll & The Engravings on the Pedestal

E Comp Richard Hicken – The Crowbar, Pick and Shovel & The Sceptres

Comp Martin Hockley – The Sword and Trowel & The Four Banners

Comp Colin Kenyon – The Five Platonic Bodies & The Central Banner

E Comp Bob Paice then presented a couple of Solomon Nuggets:

The Ark of the Covenant (Summary: What happened to the Ark of the Covenant)

The Grand Originals (Summary: A commemoration of the Grand Originals and the way they link the past with the present and ‘shape’ our future’)

After the Risings, the Chapter was closed in peace and harmony, the companions adjourned for a winter warming Festive Board. A very pleasant evening was had by all the companions of Tyntesfield Chapter and the visitors.

The next convocation will be on 12th May 2026. As always visitors always welcome.
