Vivary Lodge Past Masters’ Meeting

The Past Masters of Vivary Lodge, Taunton conducted an excellent initiation ceremony for Mr Alex Stewart at the January 2026 meeting; John Rudge took the Chair of King Solomon and led his team with a masterclass of the 1st degree ritual. Alex was an excellent candidate and thoroughly enjoyed his special evening, even if a lot of it (at the time) did not make too much sense to him! Alex pictured above centre, with John Rudge to his left and the incumbent Master and Wardens either side.
The brotherly love and friendship continued on to the Festive Board afterwards, with a superb meal provided by Taunton Masonic Hall’s resident caterer 5* Karen and her team. All in all, a wonderful evening of masonry and friendship; the Brethren wish Alex all the best for his future masonic career.
Vivary Lodge was formed in 1975 to provide a masonic ‘home’ for newcomers to Taunton (just like Alex) or returners, whether that be for work, retirement or simply relocation to the Taunton area. It is a friendly lodge that meets on every 3rd Friday, October to April; if you would like to find out more about how to join Freemasonry and Vivary Lodge, have a look at this link: https://www.somersetfreemasons.org/how-to-join/
