Gordano Light Blues Conduct A Passing Ceremony
Gordano Lodge 6244 had its regular January meeting on the 26th. The meeting was also a second degree ceremony with many newly appointed light blues taking part. Bro Jon Card was the last minute stand-in candidate and Worshipful Master of Severn Lodge James Purnell was invited to take the Chair of King Solomon for the Passing Ceremony. Bro Simon Jones did his 1st role as Junior Deacon while Bro Paul Locke did the working tools of a Fellowcraft Freemason for his 1st time.
Bro Paul Locke was presented his Grand Lodge certificate by Worshipful Brother Andy Wade, the lodge Mentor.
Following the meeting in the temple off we all descended downstairs for the Burns Night festive board. The piper donned the bagpipes and began his journey around the Poets Suite, while newly raised Bro Jon Card followed with the Haggis and closely followed by Worshipful Bro Matt Westly nursing a rather large bottle of whiskey. The famous poem ‘Address to a Haggis’ by Robert Burns was delivered with passion.
A traditional Burns night supper consisting of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties and followed by Braised Scottish Beef in ale made for a fabulous meal that everyone enjoyed. Toast and merriment were included in another fantastic night at Gordano Lodge’.
