Two Prestigious 60-Year Certificates

This autumn, two senior members of Nyanza Lodge, Ilminster, received recognition of their remarkable service to Freemasonry.

Trevor Paul, who was initiated into Nyanza Lodge in April 1965, became Worshipful Master in 1976, then held various offices including Assistant Secretary and then Director of Ceremonies for 8 years; also as Organist for 20 years and stand-in Organist for several other Lodges in Somerset.  Trevor is also a member of Somerset Masters Lodge.

Trevor’s certificate was presented by the Provincial Grand Master Raymond Guthrie, who delivered a heartfelt speech honouring his lifelong Masonic journey.

Briane Davies, who was initiated into St. Mildred Lodge, Cardiff, in December 1965 becoming Worshipful Master in 1974, then held various offices including Director of Ceremonies and Charity Steward.  Briane joined Nyanza Lodge in 2011 and was also a member of Monmouthshire Past Masters Lodge.

Briane received his certificate from Assistant Provincial Grand Master Barrie Palmer, who honoured his Welsh Masonic career with a perfectly pitched witty tribute.

The Worshipful Master, Officers and Brethren of Nyanza Lodge extend their personal thanks to both Trevor and Briane for their exceptional contributions; both have been invaluable to the Lodge over their 60-year association and they are extremely proud to have them as part of the Lodge family.
