A Successful Year for Portcullis Lodge
Portcullis Lodge finished the year in style by carrying out their fifth initiation since the installation meeting back in February.
A packed Lodge saw nearly fifty Freemasons squeeze into the Hanging Chapel with many distinguished brethren from Provinces such as Dorset, Hampshire, Gloucestershire Bristol and Surrey and a goodly number from the Forrest of Mendip including the Provincial Director of Ceremonies Garry Sharp, Nyanza & Parrett and Axe.
The meeting began in a sombre mood as eulogies were heard for Richard Gulliver who was 99 and had been initiated in 1957.
Also for Graham Lock, who when unwell had asked his Cousin Dennis Paull (the lodge DC) to present his eulogy when the time came. Denis spoke very fondly of Graham and recanted a story or two.
The WM proceeded to initiate Bill Tinsley in fine fashion with the highlight of the evening being from Daniel Safadi (EA) who presented the working tools.

The Festive board was a Christmas meal at the Langport Arms which was a joyous affair; after which they met up with their wives and Partners who had been dining separately at the Arms.
The Lodge will be performing a raising Ceremony at their January meeting and then in February a new Master will take the helm.
