A Brilliant Christmas White Table at Elizabethan Lodge

What a night! Nearly eighty, brethren joined by friends and family, packed into the main function room at Bath Masonic Hall for this year’s Christmas special, and the place was buzzing from the moment the doors opened.

They enjoyed a cracking Christmas dinner – turkey roulade, nut roast, starters, puds, the lot – all served up by the Hall’s ever-reliable catering team. Plenty of good conversation, lots of laughter, the odd party hat worn at a slightly chaotic angle, and an array of singalongs and party games. Rumours that the WM became increasingly ‘festive’ as the wine increasingly flowed and the evening wore on, remain unconfirmed speculation!

A real highlight of the night was the entertainment from The Owls of Pill, a brilliant West Country harmony group who perform in Victorian dress, and their arrival filled the room with carols, singalongs and proper festive cheer. They went down an absolute treat.

The raffle, as always, was good fun and helped raise a tidy sum for charity. The Lodge thanks everyone who bought tickets, donated prizes or cheered on the winners.

Most of all, it was just lovely to see the room full of members, partners, family and friends enjoying themselves and getting into the Christmas spirit together. Exactly what a “White Table” should be, exactly what both Christmas and Freemasonry are all about.

Grateful to everyone who came along and made it such a warm, friendly night, everyone at Elizabethan Lodge wishes you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
