An Evening of Bonhomie

The November meeting of St Alphege Lodge went off with a bang as usual, competing with the annual fireworks display on the Rec, but despite the noisy distraction there was an aura of tranquillity and bonhomie.

Members of The Royal Sussex Lodge came to present the Travelling Trowel which, as an emblem of Brotherly Love, is an instrument introduced to promote visiting between Lodges in Somerset; not that this was needed, as visitors to St Alphege Lodge will always be assured of a warm welcome.

Following the presentation, Brother Jake was Passed to the Degree of Felowcraft in a moving and well-orchestrated ceremony master-minded by their Director of Ceremonies, John.

After the formalities of the evening, the brethren were served by their new bartenders, David and Cedric; an example of a more experienced mason working alongside one of their newer members; however, who exactly was looking after who, is a subject of much speculation!
