£15,000 MCF Grant Made To Frome’s Purple Elephant.

Purple Elephant is a small charity based in Frome. It was set up in 2015 and has been running projects for families in Frome and its surrounding villages ever since.

They have been awarded a grant of £15,000 over three years by the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF)

Over the years, their focus has changed from community events to direct family support services. They now offer a range of services to support local families with children of all ages, from babies to teenagers.

Their annual Children’s Festival, held in Frome, is now one of the town’s most eagerly anticipated events.

The overall aim is to support social inclusion and integration, helping to develop a strong and supportive community, believing that all children should have the same opportunities to learn, have fun and become the best they can be. The team at Purple Elephant work closely with other organisations in Frome to reach the families who need their support most, in order to try to make their lives a little easier and to bring some fun to their day.

Their primary focus is supporting families who are facing any kind of disadvantage, whether through low income, poor mental health, additional needs or disabilities, substance addiction or social isolation.
