Woodspring Lodge donate £250 to the Cystic Fibrosis Comfort Fund

The Comfort Fund was founded in 1991 by a group of people from Bristol Royal Hospital For Children, following a bequest from a grandfather, stipulating that the money should be used to benefit people with Cystic Fibrosis, to bring some comfort and fun into their lives. (it is a registered Charity).

The Comfort Fund, Bristol based, continues to support this ethos, providing practical support and comfort for those affected by CF.

On Friday the 16th May at Woodspring Lodge No 8791, the last meeting of the year, a cheque was presented to the CFCF and guests at the festive board (a white table event). Mr Andy Stone, an ambassador for the said charity, and Mrs Helen Forrow, the daughter of the late Mrs Mary Burridge joined the brethren at the Festive Board. Mary was the partner of WB Alan Carter; the Director of Ceremonies at Woodspring lodge.
Mary sadly passed away after an illness over the Xmas period in 2024. She was a great supporter of Woodspring lodge and Mary & Alan attended many Masonic social events. She is truly missed.

Mary was a great supporter of this Charity and was involved as a trustee and treasurer in her time with the CFCF. Woodspring Lodge felt it was appropriate to support this charity, in memory of Mary, and a cheque for £250 was presented by current Worshipful Master Simon Riley and Brother Alan Carter to Mr Andy Stone.
Mary’s daughter Mrs Helen Forrow also attended the festive board along with her husband.

Andy Stone made a short speech at the festive board in respect of the CFCF and a thank you for the donation
