Ray Guthrie visits Chapter of Sincerity to witness Gary Exalted.
On a cold January evening the Chapter of Sincerity were delighted to provide a warm welcome to MEGS Ray Guthrie on what was his first Masonic visit of the year. Ray was accompanied by his Provincial Grand DC Mark Golding. MEZ John Owen and proffered the Sceptre to Ray but it was politely declined who said he was looking forward to the ceremony.
In their last Convocation Companion Chris Lewis was exalted in fine style. This time it was the turn of Garry McEvans. The ceremony was led by MEZ in excellent fashion and was ably supported by his team, some of whom were last minute stands in. Comp Mike Norton explained the signs and secrets although got slightly confused with his left and right and Comp Peter Gibson gave an excellent closing address. After the ceremony Ray was kind enough to present and a SGC certificate to Comp. Lee Smith. The MEZ John thanked the stand in officers and all out visitors for braving the bad weather for visiting the Chapter.
The Chapter were delighted to see Karen the chief at the Festive Board after her recent illness and enjoyed a fantast roast beef meal. E.Comp Chris Partridge proposed the toast to the candidate in fine style and our new Companion responded splendidly. The highlight of the Festive Board was E.Comp. Adrian Halliwell’s poetic response to the visitors toast.
