Latest Initiate at Showmens guild

This past Thursday 19th December at the latest regular meeting of the Showmens guild, we had the pleasure to initiate Bro Sam Richards, who was first greeted at the door of the lodge blindfolded and properly prepared by the inner guard his older brother bro Jack Richards who was only raised himself the previous month. 

The worshipful master bro Sam’s cousin, assisted by his team Initiated him in true Showmens Guild fashion. Bro Sam’s uncle did a fanatic job of the North East corner and the lodge DC did a heartfelt exemplary rendition of Charge. But the best was Bro Jack delivering a word perfect 1st degree working tools to his own brother on what was a wonderful family evening. Bro Sam was supported on the evening by his dad Bro Peter Richard and cousin Bro Peter Richard’s both from the Scottish constitution and his other cousin bro joe Richard’s. Who next month will be passed with his cousin in a double second.

In the true sense of freemasonry, the lodge was well supported by many visitors mainly the brethren of Southey, our mother lodge who came out in force to support the lodge. A meeting in which, in recent years has been difficult to attend for many of the members with the evolution of the Christmas markets around the country, and the active traveling Showmens work casing them to be unable to attend.

To cap of the evening in style W.Bro Derek Wilton PAGDC delivered a fantastic rendition of the chain at the festive board, where good fun and festive cheers was had by all
