Christmas Joy At The Lodge Of Perpetual Friendship

The Lodge of Perpetual Friendship No. 135, hosted their annual Christmas meeting & dinner on the 9th December in Bridgwater with this year including a lot of new & exciting ideas & additions. The overarching theme was to create an informal & relaxed setting, so for the first time for most members, the dress code was smart casual (as opposed to suits).

After a short meeting, friends & family started to arrive to join in with the festivities & were met with an impressive buffet of food.

Whilst enjoying their food, everyone was treated to a brilliant show by the Westonzoyland Handbell Ringing Club who played a mixture of Christmas jingles.

If the Handbell performance wasn’t enough, the Blackdown Acapella group gave a wonderful interactive performance, once again, including a range of Christmas Carols. To get everyone fully into the Christmas spirit, the group got everyone singing, with twelve lucky lodge members having to perform a hilarious rendition of the ‘12 days of Christmas’, much to everyone else’s delight.

Included within the meal price was a strip of Raffle Tickets with the Blackdown Acapella group seemingly sweeping up a lot of the prizes. With 75 meals booked in, over £370 was raised for local causes. The evening was a complete success & shows that sometimes change is good. By creating a relaxed environment, complemented by a wide choice of buffet food & adding in wonderful entertainment meant everyone had a fantastic time & went away high in Christmas spirit.
