Not only were they delighted to receive the Provincial Grand Master for Somerset, Ray Guthrie but also Sir David Wootton Past Deputy Grand Master and 2nd Grand Principal who was attending as a guest of the Charity Steward Roger Chadwick.  The Master of the Lodge John Nicholas and his team put on a fantastic ceremony and raised Brother Steve Loveridge.  Special mention must go to Denis Paull who rolled back the years at the grand age of 80 to perform the traditional history.

The Charity Steward also proposed the following donations which were all approved:

The Festive board was held with the usual joyous atmosphere one comes to expect from the members of Portcullis.  The visitors toast was proposed by the JW Mike Norton who thanked all the visitors and presented Sir David, Ray and Nathan Henderson (Provincial DC) each with a bottle of Cider Brandy.  Mike also presented Sir David with an Adair pin badge and a picture of the Hanging Chapel.  Sir David responded to the toast to Grand Officers with how much he had enjoyed himself at the meeting and festive board.
