The Baton Has Been Passed On!

It was a busy old night at Backwell Lodge on Friday 22nd November. Our WM, W.Bro Roddy Chambers had only jetted back to the UK from his holiday in Jamaica that morning, so did extremely well to conduct a Passing ceremony for one of our newer members.

The Brethren of Southey Lodge also arrived in good numbers and carried safely with them, the Travelling Trowel! It was presented to the WM in fine fashion by Southey Lodge WM, W.Bro Nick Hill.

W.Bro Roddy said “The Travelling Trowel is such a fantastic reminder of the importance of visiting in Freemasonry. Not only does it mean you are supporting other Lodges when you go visiting, it also gives you the opportunity to meet new friends and reconnect with existing friends too.” He added “All Lodges do things slightly differently, so visiting also gives you a great opportunity to experience that and the traditions of other Lodges.”

An excellent Festive Board was enjoyed by Backwell members and visitors alike to round off another enjoyable evening.

The Brethren of Backwell Lodge are now looking forward to delivering the Travelling Trowel to Coleridge Lodge in Clevedon on the 8th January.
