Showmens Guild Raise a Brother
his past Thursday we held our latest regular meeting of Showmens guild 9089 in Clevedon, this was our first meeting since our installation in February. With our worshipful masters Roger O,Connors jr first ceremony excellently done ably assisted by his IPM and father Roger O’Connor sr. The WM raised his cousin bro Jack Richards in true Showmens fashion brilliantly supported by visitors from our mother lodge Southey. Who at last minute jumped in to due to brethren stuck in the snow in Cornwall and unable to make it.
Bro Jack was supported on the evening by his father and brother both bro Peter Richards, both of whom had been initiated in Scotland and showing the differences in signs and regalia.
The only evening ended on a brilliant note, our newly raised brother was able to second the proposal by Roger O’Conner Sr of his brother mr Sam Richards as a candidate for initiation, keeping up the family feel the Showmens Guild is know for.
On the night the lodge was honoured by the presence of W.Bro Russ Woodland APGM and members of the provincial team who did a superb job in explaining the membership challenge our fraternity is facing. Helping the lodge face into the problem and build a platform to push and drive the lodge forward to ensure it’s here for generations to come.
