Midsomer Norton Remembrance Parade
Worshipful Master Craig Harding laid the Lodge wreath at the Midsomer Norton Remembrance Parade this morning. In recognition of his past miliary service Bro Neil Sunderland joined the Veterans in the parade. Other Lodge brethren were amongst the large number of the general public to pay their respects to ‘The Fallen’.
We also remember today Infantryman Lance Corporal Percy Blinman of the 1/6 Gloucestershire Regiment lost his life in WW1 at The Battle of the Somme on 23 July 1916, aged 27 years. He lies interned in Pozieres British Cemetery, Ovillers-La Boisselle, in France. The year before he was killed Percy was Initiated into Connaught Lodge, joining his father Harry Thomas Blinman, and brother Francis Kingston Blinman, both of whom are Past Masters of the Lodge.
