David takes over as Commander at Nailsea RAM and a 40 year Certificate for John Peters
At the recent meeting of the Nailsea Royal Ark Mariners, David Maddern was installed as the new Commander by Peter Tyler with the assistance of Martin Slocombe.
Ray Guthrie attended as the Deputy for the Grand Master with Graham Bodman as his DC and delivered the charge in his usual exemplary fashion. Ray then went on to present John Peters with his 40 year certificate saying how much John has contributed to the Royal Ark Mariners over the years, including being a founder member of Nailsea RAM.
David took to the chair in his usual style and installed his officers with good humour and was word perfect. Ray then being made to work for his supper presented the RAM certificate to Ian Evans, who joined the Lodge back in January.
Nailsea is one of the largest Royal Ark Mariner Lodges in the Province with over 35 subscribing members and with 27 attending on the night, it was a very enjoyable evening.
The catering at Nailsea was to its usual high standard, with Hunters Chicken followed by a rather lovely Chocolate Brownie.
