Masonic Narrow Boat – Words of Wisdom
Masonic Narrow Boat trip
It strikes a Masonic band of brothers from Rural Philanthropic lodge that a recent Brotherly Narrow boat trip was a lot like masonry.
Firstly, the brothers needed to work as a team with each member being well prepared for their role, and a willingness to learn other roles is a very helpful attitude to share the load. There needs to be an abundance of brotherly love and harmony in a confined space like a narrow boat.
Like masonry you will face many trials and approbations along the way navigating locks, swing bridges, heavy rain and waking up stranded in dry dock on one occasion. The occasional prayer as you face oncoming traffic in a tight part of the canal.
However, if you work hard with conviction and complete your work successfully the day is always ended by refreshment in a local watering hole, where various toasts finish the day in a festive manner.
