Morning Meeting for Somerset 1st Principals

The Royal Arch Chapter were pleased to receive members of other Province’s First Principals, from Chapters in, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Bristol and Hereford and Worcestershire. Their presence was most welcome and helped to swell the numbers of Somerset members.

The Chapter was opened by E Comp John Winston with the assistance of E Comps Barry McCormack and Stuart Hadler. David Parslow was welcomed on behalf of MEGS, then welcomed the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent (MEGS) for Somerset, Ray Guthrie, and Supreme Grand Chapter Officers of this and other Provinces. MEGS Ray then gave a talk on “The Royal Arch – the Next Chapter”. This explained the role of companions in bringing more into our Chapters, Membership Pathway and Archway. This was well received by all.

The main attraction of the day was the Induction of the three new Principals:

First Principal – E Comp. Barry McCormack

Second Principal – E Comp. Stuart Hadler

Third Principal – E Comp. Adrian Halliwell

They then invested their team for the year, which included two, on the spot joiner forms, to complete the number. The Chapter was then closed and those staying went below for a fine Festive Board. One to note: E Comp Chris Waterhouse proposed the Toast to the Province, as he was the only one without Provincial honours, very cleverly taking his fire time from himself.
