TYNTESFIELD 4494 ROYAL ARCH CHAPTER MEETING 9th MAY 2024

On Thursday 9th May, Tyntesfield Chapter held its 141st meeting. The chapter was honoured with the presence of E Comp Neil Hurcum Deputy Grand Superintendent, accompanied and assisted by E Comp Peter Kuzemka PrGStwd and E Comp Ray Conneely incoming Provincial Mentor

At this evening the Chapter had a read-through demonstration of the Savage Workings with Comp David Neale being the candidate (exalted in success meetings) and E Comp Martin Slocombe standing in and crawling about as 1st Assistant Sojourner. The new workings were received positively by the Officers and Companions present. The reduced time taken and reduction in repetition was welcomed.

A vote was passed to utilise the Savage workings at the next exaltation meeting, plus a fuller vote to be held to fully adopt the new ritual.

E Comp David Maddern as part of his Third Provincial Principal’s duty presented Supreme Grand Chapter certificate to Companion Neale.

The remaining part of the meeting was to receive The Membership Challenge led by E Comp Neil Hurcum Deputy Grand Superintendent, this led to further questions, responses and debate. Although membership numbers had reduced from 2013 and 2018 levels, it was felt that the Chapter is reasonably healthy with 18 of the 31 members being present on the evening and good progression in place, plus two candidates being successfully balloted for. But as per our school reports … Could do Better!!

The Chapter was closed in peace and harmony and the companions adjourned for a Festive Board of Pulled Ham Hock, pickle and bread, followed by Chicken Schnitzel with new potatoes, peas & salad and rounded off with Raspberry Eton Mess, and Coffee, again up to the normal excellent Nailsea standard.

A very enjoyable evening was had by all. The next convocation will be the Installation Meeting on Thursday 12th September 2024. As always visitors will receive a normal Tyntesfield welcome.
