285 Curry Club

Members of The Lodge of Love and Honour (No 285) had their first “Curry Club” in April.

This was setup by a number of light blues in the lodge with a view to supporting existing new members and also as a conduit to introduce potential new masons to the lodge in an informal environment.

80% of people do not know masonry exists, 15% know it exists but don’t know how to join. An informal social evening is the perfect environment in which to get to know a little bit more.

The first evening was well attended with 20 people joining us for pre dinner drinks and 14 for dinner in Wells. This resulted in one existing member returning to lodge, and another being initiated in September.

The second evening was last Friday in Shepton Mallet and followed roughly the same format but this time we started in a cocktail bar!

June’s social will be burgers and hot wings. We hope pre dinner drinks will be in the sunshine.
