St Kew donate to Dementia UK Charity

St Kew Lodge recently made a cheque presentation to the Dementia UK Charity for £2,500, the money was raised over the course of the Year from April 2022 to April 2023 when the Master of St Kew Lodge, Martin Hughes was in Office.

During the Year they held a Black tie Ball for our Ladies Night, Hosted a Summer BBQ,  Held a Quiz night and had numerous Raffles including one for a Gallon of Whisky.

The reason Martin opted for Dementia UK as the nominated Charity for his year in Office, was that his wife, Karen’s, mother was beginning to suffer with dementia and they saw the deterioration in her mental faculties. Sadly Martin’s Mother in Law, Marion Bond has since passed away due to other health issues during that year.

Dementia UK is a charity that helps family members and those people suffering with the awful disease that dementia is.
