Avalon Chapter 446 Kick Off 2024 With A Double

On the 20th of February Avalon Chapter 446, who meet at Wedmore held their first meeting of 2024 and despite the wet and drab weather outside, the spirits of the Companions inside were far from dampened.

Excellent Companion Mark Caldwell (First Principle) , Excellent Companion Thomas Nutt (Second Principle) and Excellent Companion Terence Hayes (Third Principle) performed another double exaltation, which was made even more special – it being a father and son ceremony. Companion Joseph Guidi and Companion Alesandro Guidi were both welcomed into the Chapter during an excellent evening.

The final business of the evening was to present a Grand Chapter Certificate to Companions Sean Sloan and Nicholas Waterhouse, during which Excellent Companion Brian Crome gave a detailed explanation of the certificate. Following that, the Companions voted unanimously to make a charitable donation to local foodbanks in Somerset. Afterwards, a festive board consisting of cream of vegetable soup, chicken ham and leek pie, followed by lemon and raspberry trifle was enjoyed by everyone – along with good cheer and merriment.
