Lynne Evans, the Leader of the Taunton Branch of the Somerset Masonic Friendly Association (SMFA) received a lovely thank you letter from Macmillan Cancer, after recently raising £656.70, by holding an afternoon “Tea-party” for neighbours family and friends as well as members of the SMFA, including several committee members, Karen Dingle and Hayley Hunt who were great help!
Lynne wanted to raise funds for the charity as she had been on the receiving end of the excellent care and help they provide. Six years ago, Lynne was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had to undergo Surgery, Radiotherapy, and Chemotherapy. Lynn says the support was incredible with Macmillan even arranging a “makeover” for her and other ladies as well as reflexology treatments at St Margarets Hospice.
A raffle was also organised to which people also gave generously to and a lovely afternoon was had by all.
