Love and Honour donate £2,000 to Brainwave Charity

Brainwave is a charity that exists to help children with disabilities achieve greater independence by aiming to improve their mobility, communication skills and learning potential through a range of specialist therapies, as the children they work with have a wide range of conditions, including: Autism, Cerebral Palsy and disorders such as Downs Syndrome.

Their therapists are drawn from the mainstream fields of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and learning and development experts. They work alongside the family to devise a bespoke therapy programme, specifically designed to suit their child’s needs and unlock their potential.

Families go for a day at the Brainwave facility, spend time with a therapist, use the swimming pool and play in interactive rooms, aimed at understanding their needs. This also helps the parents to learn more about their own child’s needs and how they can work alongside Brainwave to help their children unlock potential. They all get to play with a specific toy, which can be taken home with them at the end of the day.

The cost of a full day is £500, so this generous donation will allow 4 families to access the facility, fully funded.

David Cole, first came across Brainwave when he began work as an Architect, fresh out of University, some 30 years ago. It was Davids first job to design part of the facility, he was so moved by what they did there that he decided he would raise funds for them whenever he could.
