St Kew 1222 Installation, W Bro Martin Hughes
Martin Hughes had been waiting two years to be installed in the Chair of King Solomon in the St Kew lodge, a wait he did post on his facebook page.
It has been a difficult time for all lodges during the past few years with the effects of COVID, but St Kew suffered even more with the untimely passing of its Master W Bro Gordon Videcombe to the Grand lodge above. Martin did an excellent Job as senior Warden during this time and together with the past Masters they have upheld the standard of St Kew.
St Kew can now look forward to a very successful year under the Mastership of W Bro Martin, and visitors can expect some excellent ceremonies in the temple, and do doubt supported by an active social Calendar.
The evening got off to a perfect start, when on arrival brethren were welcomed with a choice of some excellent cakes provided by his wife Karen.
The ceremony of installation was carried out very efficiently by W Bro Mick Collins as installing Martin backed up by a very proficient team. The address to the Master was given by V W Bro Ben Batley.
The ceremony was followed by an excellent festive Board, where Martin had the first opportunity to take in some of the role of Master, especially when the Masters song was sung superbly by Bro Ashley Brown and he then toasted by the Brethren, as Master on the lodge.
