Trendlewood Community Festival 2021

When the organisers of the Trendlewood Community Festival contacted the brethren of Estune Lodge with a request to support a local event just a few minutes’ walk from their meeting place at the Nailsea Masonic Hall it was an opportunity too good to miss.  Calling on support from the Provincial team and the ‘Teddies for Loving Care’ Coordinator Roger Penny the day was quickly organised with everybody hoping for good weather.

Unusually for a Bank Holiday weekend the 28th August did not disappoint with the event bathed in glorious sunshine. With a backdrop of the events live music from a host of entertainers ranging from pop to rock to folk the brethren of Estune manned the stand answering questions on Freemasonry and running a free to enter raffle. Prizes were donated from several local businesses with live draws each hour on the event’s public announcement system causing considerable excitement.

The five Raffle prizes consisted of:

£35 voucher for the IVY Kitchen Nailsea

£25 Voucher for the Farmhouse Nailsea

£20 Garden Centre Voucher

A Large TLC Teddy bear and Chocolate Hamper

A Cut and Blow Dry voucher for Finishing Touch in Nailsea

An enjoyable day was had by all concerned with many interesting points discussed with members of the public interested to find out more about Freemasonry. It is hoped that the day may attract our next new member.

Overall this was a great event which promoted Freemasonry in Somerset.
