A Baby in the Lodge

On the 20^th December 2011 the Lodge was in a position to make a presentation of £4,000 for the BRI Children’s Oncology Ward in memory of ‘Baby George’ the baby son of Andrew and Claire May, the grandson of Bro Keith and Andrea Eaton, and the great grandson of W.Bro Wally May. Andrew and Claire wanted to give something back following all the attempts made to try and save Baby George and also to help future children who might suffer the same problem The W.M. W.Bro Rob Hoy Green, made this his charity of the year and events were held to support him starting with a James Bond Casino evening on 5^th March 2011. Tickets for this CASINO ROYAL 007 evening sold out remarkably quickly and the target of £4,000 was achieved.

Andrew and Claire May were invited to attend the Lodge meeting on 20^th December to receive a cheque for £4,000  from  W.Bro D.L. Medlock, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, on behalf of  the Lodge. The surprise came when Andrew and Claire entered the Lodge carrying their new three month old daughter; the baby’s presence had been kept a secret. A very emotional evening.
